THE POWER

OF MANY.

Remembering May 11th 2015....

For the second year BritMex was celebrated as an initiative organised by members of the Mexican Talent Network UK and Chevening Alumni in order to boost alliances between future leaders and entrepreneurs from Mexico and the UK.

This year, the BritMex Ideas Booster event had the theme The Power of Many, it was held at Two Temple Place and had inspirational speakers such as: Deborah Leary, OBE, CEO of Forensic Pathways and one of Britain´s top 100 women entrepreneurs; Carlos Serra, Director of Operations at SocialBro; Sarah Safa Kasim, CEO and Vice Chairman of Al Maseer Insurance, Iraq and Dr. Andres Roemer, academic, journalist, founder of “Ciudad de las Ideas” and Consul of Mexico in San Francisco.

The speakers shared their inspiring stories and experience as successful entrepreneurs and leaders. They emphasized the importance of finding the right people to join forces in order to grow their businesses and they said that luck has very little to do with success; timing, experience, confidence and hard work are essential to achieve entrepreneurs’ goals. There was also an invitation from their side to leave one's comfort zone to actively search for partnership opportunities and to take the chance and be responsible of your ideas.

The Ambassador of Mexico Diego Gomez-Pickering recognised the role of Mexican Talent Network in the UK to promote various activities within the area of education, innovation, entrepreneurship and science as part of the celebration of the Year of Mexico in the United Kingdom.

The diplomat highlighted that BritMex represents an example of what it is expected to achieve in the Dual Year in the UK: sharing with British society the innovative and economic opportunities offered by Mexico and encourage current and future generations of leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to meet each other, connect and get involved together in innovation projects.

Co-founders of BritMex, Cynthia Vega and Laura Vanessa Munoz, announced that BritMex will host its Global Lab competition in October 2015, where they will invite both British and Mexican entrepreneurs, developers and students to create an app to solve a specific social issue.

They will launch the platform this summer and they encouraged participants to keep in touch with them through their website www.britmexgb.com

BritMex official partners this year are: Mexican Talent Network UK, Bulldog Trust, Chevening Awards, Chevening Alumni Alliance, Mexican Embassy in the UK, Gifted Citizen, Mexico Digital, Tea &Tequila Trading and La Casita Comunicacion.
