JOVENES EMPRENDEDORES MEXICANOS Y BRITANICOS RESOLVERAN PROBLEMAS EN COMUN DE AMBOS PAISES MEDIANTE LA CREACION DE APPS.
Septiembre 2015. Durante Septiembre estará abierto el BritMex Global Lab, el innovador Hackathon virtual que forma parte de las actividades de la agenda del Año Dual entre el Reino Unido y México. BritMex Global Lab es una iniciativa sin fines de lucro que busca generar colaboraciones tangibles entre emprendedores de ambos países, mediante la creación de apps que fomenten la agricultura sustentable & el emprendimiento entre ambas naciones.
Los equipos ganadores del Global Lab presentarán sus proyectos en el Open Government Partnership Global Summit a realizarse en la Ciudad de México a finales de octubre, lo que les brindará la oportunidad de conectarse globalmente en un evento de alto impacto.
Registrarse a BritMex Global Lab es gratis y los participantes presentarán sus ideas a importantes personalidades de la industria, tanto británica como mexicana. Entre los jueces se encuentra Ania Calderón, coordinadora de la Estrategia Nacional Digital; Edgar Barroso Merino, director del Laboratorio de Emprendimiento y Transformación; Carlos Serra, director de Operaciones de SocialBro; Amali de Alwis, CEO de Code First Girls UK; Brad Little, líder de Soluciones Verticales para Facebook, entre otros.
Los ganadores también tendrán acceso a mentores de alto nivel, uno de ellos es Kriti Sharma, vice presidente de Estrategia y líder de Productos en Barclays, UK. "Con BritMex queremos retar tanto a británicos como a mexicanos a salir de su zona de confort, no tener miedo a hacer negocios con otras culturas y explorar lo desconocido. Lo más importante será las relaciones que se desarrollen mediante los proyectos, en el largo plazo estoy segura esto generará una conexión más cercana entre ambos países", comentó Cynthia Vega, co-fundadora y CEO de BritMex.
Por otro lado, Laura Vanessa Muñoz, co-fundadora y COO de BritMex agregó “cada día es más importante abrir plataformas que brinden la oportunidad de colaboración internacional para el desarrollo, y por eso BritMex Global Lab es un evento inclusivo e innovador, no importa tu locación, si vives en cualquier provincia de México o del Reino Unido podrás participar, e invitamos a desarrolladores, ilustradores, admnistradores de proyectos, emprendedores y creativos a hacer la diferencia con nosotros”.
Marianna Lara Otaola, co-fundadora y representante de BritMex en México, concluyó que “son este tipo de iniciativas innovadoras las que permiten a los países progresar, sin innovación difícilmente hay desarrollo, de ahí la importancia en crearlas, apoyarlas y participar”.

YOUNG MEXICAN AND BRITISH ENTREPRENEURS WILL JOIN FORCES TO SOLVE COMMON PROBLEMS TO BOTH COUNTRIES BY USING TECHNOLOGY AND CREATING APPS
September 2015. BritMex Global Lab is an innovative virtual Hackathon that will take place during September 2015. BritMex Global Lab is part of the official initiatives of the Dual Year between the United Kingdom and Mexico. BritMex Global Lab is a non-for-profit initiative that seeks to generate tangible collaborations between entrepreneurs of both countries, by creating apps to promote sustainable agriculture & remove barriers of cross-border entrepreneurship.
The winning teams of Global Lab will present their projects at the Open Government Partnership Global Summit to be held in Mexico City in late October, this international forum will give the winning team the opportunity to connect globally in a high-impact event.
Participating at the BritMex Global Lab is free. Participants will present their ideas to important personalities in the industry, both British and Mexican. Among the judges is Ania Calderon, Coordinator of the National Digital Strategy; Edgar Barroso Merino, Director of the Laboratory for Entrepreneurship and Transformation; Carlos Serra, COO of SocialBro; Amali de Alwis, CEO of Code First Girls UK; Brad Little, Leader of Vertical Solutions Facebook, among others.
Winners will also have access to high-level mentors, one of them is Kriti Sharma, Vice President of Digital Strategy and Product Leader at Barclays UK. "With BritMex we want to challenge both British and Mexicans to leave their comfort zone, not to be afraid to do business with other cultures and explore the unknown. The most important thing is the relationships that will develop through the projects, in the long run I'm sure this will generate a closer connection between the two countries, "said Cynthia Vega, Co-founder and CEO of BritMex.
In addition, Laura Vanessa Muñoz, Co-founder and COO of BritMex said "every day is more important to open platforms that provide the opportunity for international cooperation for development, and therefore Britmex Global Lab is an inclusive and innovative event, as this is a virtual event if you live in any region of Mexico or the United Kingdom you can participate.
